Today I mounted a yakattack broomstick gopro mount with external power supply.
The first thing I did was to mount an external power supply to my new gopro 4 silver so I could take up to ten hours of continuous video. I purchased a 30PIN POWER CABLE WITH WATERPROOF BACK DOOR HOUSING FOR GOPRO from Amazon.

Power is supplied by a 10,000mah external battery pack protected by a 1 liter dry bag

I mounted the boomstick on an 8 in. track using a swivel base and a ram plunger mount.

I used one fullback backing plate, I could have used 2 but one seemed pretty solid.
I couldn't reach the place I mounted it so i had to use yakattack's rigging bullet which made the install really easy.
If you have never used one you should check how to on youtube.

Here is the finished install and a picture I took from my gopro.

Well done.  Seems like a solid install with a back plate and double checking water seepage... doubt much will get through the zip/dry combo.  Any shake from the mount (rather, how much)?  I can't stand camera shake and my gopro solutions thus far have left me looking for new solutions.  Did you film the install by chance?
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

Sorry we didn't film the install, and the shaking is one of our concerns too with such a long boom. That is why we used a track mount so we can use a shorter stick to minimize the shakiness if needed. Our primary camera for footage is a head-mounted gopro.

Mighty clever installation, Ryu.  Good job!

Nice job Ryu.  I like the idea of the external power supply.  My GoPro dies so quickly.  I have to constantly stop and start the camera so it will last a while.  If I leave it run it would die it about an hour or two.
