First time posting here in Idaho Kayak fishing... Last weekend we took a trip down Salmon Falls creek from highway 93 south of Jackpot Nv to the "Backwater" area of the reservoir.  The water was pretty turbid and didn't start "clearing up" until we hit the reservoir.  At the weir portage (appx 3.4 miles in) I saw a number of smallmouth that had attempted to pass but had missed their mark and died on the grates.  Once we hit the reservoir I did manage to pick up a nice native rainbow trolling.  This was our first visit to the reservoir and hope to make many more trips this summer in search of that monster walleye.

Nice one. Love the dog. What does it weigh. I have an 85lb Red Setter that I'd love to take out on my outback but----

She is a Tibetan mastiff and weighs in at about 100 pounds. She does really well as long as her butt stays dry :p

LOL... gotta set her up a special seat to keep her backside dry!

We have two, an OK Malibu two XL angler & a Perception Pescador 10. Both rigged for fishing.  I have a thread in the drillin & cutting section on rigging Malibu two.
Goint to head back to Salmon Falls Reservoir tomorrow night to try out the new FF and hopefully catch some walleye and crappie.

Had a good time paddling and fishing at the reservoir last weekend... Just wish the fishing part would have been more productive.
If anyone has tips and tricks to catching walleye and crappie at Salmon Falls  Creek reservoir, would greatly appreciate it if you would share.
