Rodgerdodger and you guys living in the Coos Bay area, do you have any insight into an affordable place for a 21" travel trailer on a monthly basis?  107 degrees in the Rogue Valley and I've had it.  I like the combo of Sunset Bay, clamming, and the bay, but would like to hear more about the kayak and related activities attributes of other locations.

I plan on making it to the Sunset Bay tournament, but info to scout on in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Hard time of the year to start looking!  Don't overlook the smaller surrounding communities like Coquille, Myrtle Point, Reedsport, Bandon...  They all offer good fishing opportunities and aren't a long drive from Coos Bay/North Bend.

The two RV Parks down here in Port Orford are full for the season.

Thanks, Tinker.  Didn't have a trailer to park until tomorrow.  Anyplace south of Yachats works, even buying a small property with utilities for a more long term situation.
Maybe the area just north of Bandon on the way to Charleston, or Charleston itself?

I forgot about Charleston.  I don't know much about it, but I drive past a few RV parks that are right along the Bay between Charleston and North Bend.

The short-timers are already here for the 4th, but I'll keep my eyes open for what's around.

And I need to meet you sometime.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but Port Orford has managed to avoid mass development and tourism, definitely pluses.

There are some big State Parks between Florence and CoosBay, probably 2 weeks at a time...and probably booked up pretty good now...

Fogbank, I would check out Coquille River RV park. The turn off is located just north of the Bandon bridge, hwy101 on to North Bank Lane east 1 mile on the right. Bollard Beach State Park entrance is almost right across from North Bank Lane.  Nice RV park. The phone number is 541-207-1730.  Every time I go by the park it seems to have open sites and probably because it a fairly new developed RV park. I give it a try.

I chair the Port Orford Planning Commission and I am obligated to boost tourism, so ask away.
