They are late this year. Very far and few between out in sekiu right now so im guessing it will be a while before the sound gets good numbers.

Thanks. I may give it a go anyway, just in case some show up. North beach of Fort Worden outside of the kelp. I saw a couple of fish swimming with or chasing smolts or baitfish or something right off the pier at Fort Worden last week. Thats area 9 though. North beach is area 6.

Spent a few hours out there this morning. Nothing but a dogfish...and some kelp  ::). Wind kicked up and I called it a day. Maybe next weekend I can try the other side of Pt. Wilson.

I've heard that it isn't going to be much of a Pink Run this year with only 1.2 million for the sound versus 4 to 6 million this past couple years.

I'm hoping to catch a few of these this year. It was so disappointing to hear about that "blob" killing off a large portion of their food supply. They're only predicting a return of about 604,146 this year instead of the millions from previous years.

There are pinks currently being caught at the Hoodsport hatchery. 100% true, believe me.

Interesting! I noticed that a pink or two show up on the Shilshole reports sporadically. Didn't think they would be here until around mid August.

We got a few this past weekend off Jeff Head (only place we tried), fishing anywhere from 40-150 on the wire.

Saw report today of some in MA7 too. They should be on the bigger side this year?

Is there any rumor that a 2019 Humpy Kayak Classic will happen?

That's a good question to ask Dino and polyangler over on the Facebook side of the site. I think they've hosted it the past few times.

Hearing that swiftsure bank is loaded with abnormally large pinks. Bigger than coho apparently. Might not be so dismal on the pinks.
