well, what can i say? saw bass..actually scared one sunning itself by an old piling. broke off on one ( that eye crosser knot is waaayyy stronger than 6lb mono :-[ ), and missed about 4. dunnno if we launched too late in the day or what.

top waters and buzz baits werent working, so switched to soft plastics. had to go light on the weights because of the weed beds, dead lilly pad gardens and shallows, sometimes no weight at all as Yarjammer did when he hooked up late in the day. took the 6wt bugwand but there was way too much wind to toss streamers like i wanted to.

worked the north, marymoor park, end of the lake, but dont think i covered enough ground, then about an hour before sunset the wind started kicking us hard. that also seemed to put the fish down, along with the waterborne ferrari driver wannabe who probly got reported by the other boaters and fishermen sharing that end of the lake. at least we hope thats the case.

some place on here i posted a Virtual Earth map link of the lake. will be updating that in the near future. we found that apparent access points arent really what they seem on the map...

btw, if you want to launch from Idylwood Park in Redmond, be sure you have a cart. it's a drag of over 300 yrds. from the parking lot to the beach ??? with zero vehicle access. upside of that is it's a 10 minute paddle to the north end of the lake.

if it's any consolation, you would have been just fine out there with myself and Yar.. we both have radios and were ususally within shouting distance about once an hour. so you would have been fine sticking near one of us.

hey, don't feel different. i still have to mount sevral things on my trident that i've picked up for it but just do not seem to be able to find the time in the evenings to get mounted.. you coulda showed up and followed our lead, draggin your peddle boat down the hill on the grass, with the drive out and on the seat  >:D who knows, you may have been the big fish that day.

maybe next time cause i didn't have time to put line on the reel and what not...but i mounted a rod holder and put 275 yards of 20# on my reel sunday...now i just gotta either buy hooks without barbs or file them all down.

well the 20 pound is on my levelwind and that is mainly for the salt but i bought 12 pound for my spinner that is more bass oriented
can you use barbed hooks in freshwater?
