PC crabbing question

Probably discussed before on this forum but i cannot find the info...

i have never crabbed in Pacific City yet (or anywhere else in the open ocean, just in bays)

I am hoping someone can give me some pointers on where to drop crab pots in PC (not to far from the rock)?
Also, what is the typical depth? (I don't want to do a lot a prep work and then discover on the water that it is too deep for my 50 ft rope
Any special regulations on where not to drop pots (for instance related to power/dory boat traffic?)

Most people crab about 1/2 mile south of Haystack.  The dories crab that area also.  The water is about 60 ft deep there so you would need to add a bit of rope if you crab there.

I have not tried crabbing in the shallower water east of the rock.

I don't know of any areas you are prohibited from crabbing.

I hope to be there in the morning and will likely drop a crab pot also.

25-30 feet of water will also catch you plenty of crab, same area 1/4 to 1/2 mile south of the rock.
