Forecast is looking decent and I have not been out there in a while.  A friend and I will be hitting the beach for a 6am launch if anyone is interested in joining?

It is showing 3 ft in the morning with low winds. To me this seems like pretty decent surf launch options but to each their own. Hope to see some of you out there. If the forecast worsens I will head to depoe but 3 ft ever 15-16 seconds sounds nice to me. Am I off base?  Most launches in the past have been about similar conditions

I may be wrong on this, but it looks like with the 3.5 secondary well in the same direction at 9 second interval it will actually be much more frequent and up to 6.5 every 45 seconds.  Also, again no expert, but the more blue stars the more surfier it is, since its a surfing web site.  Any experts out there who can confirm before we commit yardsale by surf?

I did not see the secondary swell until I clicked farther in on the ap. I am thinking against the surf launch now haha. It could stack up to be some large waves. I am thinking that depoe bay may be a safer option. Anyone headed to depoe bay? Deptrai?

I'm in, as I'm in for Depoe.
I may look at North Fogarty before commiting to Depoe though.

I cross check with this website. Look at the Energy line for that date. If have found anything under 250 is pretty doable....

When I was at Depoe on Monday, there were clouds of black RF on the edges of the outer reef, just north of the first buoy.  They were very grabby.  I also landed a couple lings in the mid-20 inch range over there when I wanted to burn my last couple herring.  Seemed like it'd be easy to score a limit.

I am pretty sure Ocean Coho closed today.  I will be there for rockfish and lings and may try crab pots

Crap...I thought it went until the 30th.  or 6k quota.  That would be a 5 day quota.  Guess I need to consult regs again!

"The non-selective ocean coho fishery from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain will close as of Friday, Sept. 8. The quota is projected to be reached by the end of the day on Thursday, Sept. 7 so the season will close effective Sept. 7 at 11:59 p.m."

On a good note, it looks like halibut opened up all week on the 3rd of September.

I'll probably be arriving as you're headed out.

Fishing there on a South wind will be a first for me.  I'm thinking about heading South (I've always gone North) so I don't have to fight the breeze on the way back to the hole.

Good luck everyone.

Landed 9 Cabezon.

Wow, that is a lot of cabezon in one day.  I guess there numbers are doing good there.  What was the size range?

The two best times to fish is when it’s raining and when it ain’t. -Patrick McManus

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.
