So I had to take care of a few loose ends before actually wetting a line... I think my first intro was before I even moved, so here's whats been going on...I moved into my friends in Eugene just till I got settled, two weeks later a landed a nice steady job with a great local construction company, specializing in kitchen and bath remodels, year round work, GREAT management and crew, full benefits after 3 months, 401K, retirement... Ive been with them for almost two months now, and I moved out to cool little house with a yard 12 miles west in Noti-I love the country- cool roommate who is there on the weekends only, the Long Tom in the backyard, and close to my favorite place in the world, the Big Salt. Now its time I learned the local places for some rockies and ling and crab and halibut and and and.....any launch recommendations would be great! BTW Im very experienced in cold water snotty ocean conditions with ugly launches while wrangling pissed off sea-monsters and have all the appropriate gear and expectations. So much fun! Ben

It's good to have you up here dude. NCKA O.G.'s are always welcome. Unfortunately we are shut down on near shore bottom fish until Jan. 1 when the quota resets. Crabbing is good if you are willing to drive up closer to the 45th parallel, and there's a nice set of minus tides next week if you want to go do some digging for mollusks.

Good news is bottom fishing should be very productive after the layoff when some of the bigger lings come in shallow to spawn and nobody has been able to target them. If I were you I might just buy a shellfish license for the remainder of the year, unless you have steelhead fever.

Thanx for the intel Anthony! Ive might do a slow drive up the coast for some crab soon. Ive been mushroom hunting a few times and a bit of plinking at a range I found but other than thats its been work but thats OK.
And yes steelhead would be great!
