Tent or RV?

Tent, though I have a bunk in the back of my truck. I know the downtown  to St Helens river, but no handy place to camp.

There isn't much inside the city. Government Island on the Columbia allows tent camping, but you have to paddle over there.

Hornings Hideout is a nice private campground about 25 miles west of the city.

The houseless residents of the city pretty much put up a tent wherever they feel like it. Nobody seems to bother them much.

When are you planning to come to town?

You can camp in my yard. I live several blocks from the Willamette River.

If you leave needles and a bunch of trash around your tent you can camp just about anywhere for at least a few weeks.

Didn't want to hijack the thread, but same in Seattle.  I feel like starting a go-fund-me selling a "Go-Bag" of items to sprinkle around and charge half a camp site.  That allows you to park wherever, including along Alki Beach, one of the prettiest parts of Seattle.
Now, back to the fish camping question, lol.
