Tillamook Bay Monday 14th O’Crap early!(report)

Open invite meeting in the lot behind the fish cleaning station in Garibaldi at Oh530 what’s the “Oh” for ... Oh crap that’s early, low tide is 0709

Pre rigged for the morning, KiLLERclownfish is joining me as well as one of the guys that holds a First Place TBKD belt buckle !

So get up oh cap early and join a true master... he has the trophy to prove it.

So this morning I woke up late at 0530 and proceeded to leave my keys to the trailer box on the nightstand (lucky I’m 1 min. away. Went home grabbed the keys then since I was mostly pre rigged last night for two ( unfortunately my kid got stuck at work till 3am and couldn’t go) so I derigged his boat and headed out forgetting my paddle, tackle bag and VHF. Can’t fight the tide back out so made due with borrowing gear from Yippiekaiyak and the swim baits in my seat bag. He was fly fishing I wasn’t. Tossed back two small blacks and a copper. Had one keeper crab that won’t home with Yippiekaiyak. Water was lake calm and overcast didn’t get too warm.

Forgot to mention they were ocean size swim baits from pc had to modify them a bit. Also seen four birds chilling on the south end of the south jetty.

The fly fishing bite was pretty hot at first.  Great day out, and first time actually eating crab (normally I give it to the in-laws).  As my daughter put it...."Tastes like chicken-fish."

Also forgot to post up what I hooked up as we pasted the coastie  station, who’d a thunk it! Even got the bump board photo to prove it!

Hope you put a gage on that log. It looks like a keeper. Only one a day and it has to have bark!
