Whether it's February or July, there really is no better rush than a spring chinook takedown! Went 1 for 2 out there today. Almost needed defibrillation after landing this brute. I hope this springer season ends soon so I can relax.....
and fish the ocean, B10, Nehalem, Tillamook, the Columbia... okay I'm screwed.

Springers tell their children stories about you...
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Devon, the count is up to 21 springers this season, 17 on the tag. I had a very good trip to success ratio until June, when I picked up a couple but spent a lot time trolling for suspended fish without bites. My best month was March as usual. I really like knowing where the fish tend to lay up close to the bottom in the early weeks and hitting those specific spots very hard. Once the suspended fish part of the season starts, its kind of a crapshoot and any old a-hole can get one; its more a matter of luck and work ethic then, but still fun.
Just very thankful for the hatchery programs that make this possible and being able to do it so close to home is amazing. Even just a couple of fish per season would still make it worthwhile for me. And special thanks to ODFW for the two-rod endorsement and the supplemental hatchery harvest card.

Awesome job for credit where it's due boss! I wish there was a fishery that close to home I could sort out and get consistent production from. Had a few trips down to the Willy this season but sleeping in the car got old too fast to make much headway. Thanks for sharing! It keeps my faith up  :icon_thumleft:
