I am pondering the idea of taking Wednesday off of work, as it is the best day according to magic seaweed. It does seem odd to me that Tuesday and Thursday both have only 7 second intervals, yet they persist that it will be 18 seconds on Wednesday. I might be letting my overly anxious salt water appetite get the better of my judgement, but I really want to go get a few silvers and maybe even try for a halibut. Bottom fishing is a given.

Just looked at NOAA for comparison, they say 2 ft wind waves at 4 seconds, 6 foot surf at 7 seconds. Wind 5 to 10 with gusts to 15. :dontknow:

I've been watching that day as well.  That 18 second period on Wednesday is accounting for a large ground swell coming from the southwest.  So as things stand now, there'll be the usual NW swell at 3-4 feet and 7 seconds, along with the unusual 3 foot SW swell at 18 seconds.  It looks weird on MSW because they keep swapping the two swells between being the "primary" and "secondary" swells.

I'm going to continue watching it through tomorrow.  I should've gone today: conditions looked a lot nicer than the predictions.  If I go Wednesday, I'll shoot you a message.

I’m also thinking of skipping work Wednesday for this. Optimistically drove out there in the wee hours Sunday morning hoping to just put up with the sporty conditions only to have a bar restriction put in place as I sat in the water waiting to leave the bay.

Was sent back in along with an arima that just put in (guy asked if I knew you, clayman).

Afriend of mine went out of Newport today. He said it wasn't nice at all, and windy. He said the NOAA forecast for tomorrow is the same as it was for today. I probably better go ahead and work. I would hate to waste a day of calling in dead to find out it wasn't nice on the big pond.  Good luck if you guys fish. I am bummed not to go.

Super thick fog on the bar camera today.  Maybe 100 yards of visibility.  Looks like a scene from Deadliest Catch  :P.

It's supposed to be a bit nicer tomorrow, but unless the buoys start showing an improvement tonight, I'll probably stay away too.  Five foot swells at 6-7 second intervals are super lame.

What a bummer.

Righto, I'm out for tomorrow as well...but I'll probably light a candle for Friday.  Conditions forecast looks about the same through the end of the week, so fingers crossed.

This is from a post on ifish by fyshndad.
"Most fish were found between 160-210 feet of water straight out from the 2nd buoy and south towards Rocky Creek"

Friday if the weather holds and Sunday.

That was where I was on the 15th. It was a little too rough for kayaks, so we went out in a pb. Caught 7 wild coho (silvers), which we released. I find it difficult to identify & dangerous to try to keep a fish in the water for C&R from a power boat.

Nomas, how was it today and are you still going out Monday?  I went out with mojo jojo today and it was great. He is going out of PC tomorrow but Depoe bay is closer for me. Let me know time and I will meet you, otherwise I will go to PC and try not to have a yard sale...

I'm waiting for dinner at the hag in depoe now debating whether to stay the night or call it off and head for my own bed.
