Dunno if anyone else is coming down from Washington but for those of use who are, any tips on where to get a day license and bait nearby?
Thanks.

ODFW has started an online license buying site.

http://www.dfw.state.or.us/online_license_sales/index.asp

It looks like you can buy a day license and print it out yourself.

If you're coming down I-5, probably best to stop at Fishermans Marine in Delta Park for bait and probably the license as well. I'm not sure what time they're open, but likely early on Sunday.

I believe Fisherman's opens at 9 am.   There's a Joes right next door to Fisherman's, but they open at 9 am as well.

I still think the online license purchase will be your best bet.  Of course, I guess it depends on when you were planning on showing up anyway.

Nice, thanks for the info guys. I'll probably buy bait here since I want to show up as early as possible. Gotta make the most of the day!

Fred Meyers is your best bet for an early License (other than online of course). I believe they open at 7am

Thanks for the maps. I'm gonna see if I can negotiate Sunday instead of Saturday for a fishing day & try Yaquina Head next time.

PNW,

It would be great if you could make it up on Sunday to fish with us.  Unfortunately it looks like Sunday is the one day in about a week that we'll see a bit of rain.  Just remember there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.

Don't quote me on that...that expression is as old, I should have given a proper attribution.  Come to think about it, I believe it's actually an old Scandinavian expression so maybe the author is lost.

Luckily for us, dressing for immersion in a river often means I'm ready for rain.

You might as well hold it, right? Do beginners get a handicap?
