Sekiu

Decided to go up to Sekiu instead of Luhr Pt based on the previous 'Green Can Thread' and the strong current.
Got a good sized hatchery chinook that I hated to release on my gear rod trolling a Brad's bait with a small flasher.
Caught a lot of 3-5 lb rockfish off the kelp beds with a 6wt fly rod.  Tons of fun.  All C & R.  After I get a little more experience I'll try and head out past the buoy a couple miles.  They were really doing well with the coho out there....just didn't feel confident enough yet.
Saw a couple other paddle kayaks fishing.  Hope they did well as they did go out into the middle of the straight.

Sounds like a good time.  My kayak arrives mid october and I need to work on my skills a bit before i do anything serious.  Heading to Sekiu around this time is year is top on my list.  Can't wait to try LaPush as well.
