I fished Lake Samish for kokanee the last two evenings. Both days I got on the water about 5:30pm and was off around 7:30. The surface temp was 62 degrees. I was fishing chartruse or pink hootchie spinners with pink firecorn between 15 and 36 feet.

Both nights were pretty action packed. Night one I caught one as soon as I set my downrigger. I landed a second fish, lost another at the boat, and had a few strikes. Night two I caught four, lost two at the boat, lost a bass at the boat, and had a few strikes.

The fish were between 12-13 inches, and entering spawning phase. They were hitting hard. A few even managed to pop the downrigger!

Hit it again yesterday. Caught 12, kept 10 in 3 hours. Also had my first and second double since I got a two pole endorsement.

Very nice! did you fish the upper small portion of the lake or stay in the main lake itself?

I fished the main lake between the boat ramp north to the pumping station.

I went back again Tuesday and Wednesday. Limited both days, but only kept 8 on Tuesday.

Very Nice! Been debating where I want to fish this weekend. If the weather isn't too bad I just may have to give Samish 1 more shot this year. How deep are the fish?

Sorry for the late reply.

I was finding them between 15’-25’. Surface temps were right around 60 degrees.

I did wind up going out Saturday. Got some of next years fish, a few this years spawners that were still in decent shape, the rest were already fire trucks that were ready to spawn
