Attention Admin:

I was able to upload pictures before, but now when I try uploading, the pics are approved, but all I get is a blank, no picture. I've tried several times & ways but still can't seem to upload any pictures to the gallery. The pics aren't too large & I'm able to attach them to posts.* I need advice. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.
Paul

Paul,

I've been having problems uploading my pictures to the gallery as well.  I think the images from my new camera (10 megapixels) are just a bit too large either for the gallery itself, or for my internet connection.

Anyway, I found a free image resizer program (there are a lot of them out there).  I downloaded one that was free and recommended on download.com.

You can use this software to resize a batch of photos at a time and save the newer smaller files to a different location.  I downgraded my images to 3 mp (2048 x 1536) and suddenly they upload just fine on the NWKA gallery.

I suppose we could tweak the gallery to allow for the bigger photos  by increasing the maximum size as well as increasing the timeout.  It probably depends on how much space we want to dedicate on the server for doing this and 10 mp images are huge and way bigger than anyone's computer screen anyway.

Let me know if you need help resizing photos.

Thanks Brian. I've been resizing my photos with MS Office Picture Manager & they should fit within the parameters. I'm able to attach them on my posts, but when I try to upload, the pic is "approved", but the space is blank.  ??? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

Ah, I noticed the little icons missing too.  If you click on the blank icon I believe your photos will show up and you'll see it along with the BB code to include it in posts.

I just looked at your gallery and found these.  BTW, I think you're safe with keeping them a little bigger than this if you want.

Why is AMB's brown kayak so pink in this photo?

Close to cured.  It still doesn't explain where the thumbnails went.

I think currently there is a 2 MB limit set, and not by the forum software.  I'm guessing it is in the server php.ini.  I'll ask Bill to check and see if he can't increase it.

Why is AMB's brown kayak so pink in this photo?
maybe the lighting? :-\ maybe the chemical soup in the willy altered the tint in the plastic :icon_cyclops_ani: this better? (still looks kinda pink)
