They're biting if you can find them.  Whitcomb ramp was closed.

Where did you launch?
The fish look a little bigger than they did a month ago!
What lures were they biting when you did find them?

OK, but only if you don't tell anyone.

There is a dirt launch beyond Whitcomb Creek in Quartzville Creek.  It has a yellow gate/barrier that was closed.  When open, boats can launch from here.  There are a lot of stumps and other debris that would prevent this even if the gate was open.  For kayaks, you need two people today.  Wheels won't help you until someone clears the debris.

I've never caught a Kokanee while long-lining in my life.  Saturday was no exception.  I tried again, but failed again.  All but one fish were caught by jigging.  The lone outlier hit a trolled Thomas Buoyant.

Various 1/2 oz. jigs.  Fish seemed to mainly be in ~ 20', but we caught one in 5' (Thomas Buoyant) and a few in 40'.  Definitely need a fish-finder.  They were very skittish.  After we found a school. we'd catch a few then they would disappear.  I think kayaks have the stealth advantage over boats here.

Dave

Dave, you found my top secret spot. Dang.

Oh THAT secret spot... Yeah, I knew about that one.  ;D
Good to know about the debris though, that's what I was wondering about.
You had some excellent success on the jig!! Great Job.
