For those of you who've been asking/wondering - total number of registrants is 75.
Please make sure you read the rules of the tournament well and triple check to make sure you have all of the required gear listed there. We don't want to keep anyone from getting on the water for not having a PFD, immersion gear, flag, whistle etc etc etc.
See all of you this weekend!

Thanks Seth!  In case anybody else forgot there was a separate thread for the rules:
***** OFFICIAL OREGON ROCKFISH CLASSIC 2019 RULES *****

Question:
If a participant in the ORC has done their bottom fishing and decides to go out and troll for some non tournament related salmon and they go out beyond the 100 foot depth range will they be disqualified from the tournament?
Just curious

I didn't see a reply for this one, and cannot answer for the organizers...  However, in the past, if you are fishing the tournament, then you follow the tournament rules.  In this case, if you are fishing outside the posted boundaries, then you'd be subject to disqualification.

Some folks have been so eager about the ORC this year that they've asked for the waivers in advance.    (Kind of like those kids in school that used to ask for extra homework)...

Anyway, I posted those waivers on a new thread...

Curious if we can check in and then go back out on our own.  Or if we are spotted and then called in for DQ

We would rather you didn't... but technically we're not responsible for you after you check in safely.    We will probably say something if you simply turn around and relaunch from the harbor.  Regarding getting called in for DQ.. I suppose that could also be confusing on our part.  Best to take any post ORC fishing to another site.

I believe there is usually a Captains meeting the night before at the campground, does this sound correct? What time?

Captain’s Meeting 8pm Friday night near the fire ring at Chinook Bend.  We will go over rules, safety, and do waivers.

I still can't figure out how to load up the ORC fishing limits files to my Lowrance Mark 4 Chirp. If someone knows how to load them to my ff I'd love to hear about it. Otherwise I’ll just eye ball the physical limits and use my FF for the depth limit.
Thanks!

I haven't seen anything about what to expect for parking and launching arriving in the morning. On a normal weekend day, there's room in the little parking lot for cars without trailers, but I imagine it's going to be hard even getting down in there once the spaces fill up. Should I plan to park up top and wheel my yak down the hill to the launch? What's the protocol?

I've been to 10 of these things and this was right up there with the best of them!

Thanks to everyone that keeps the wheels greased and keeps this tournament chugging down the tracks.

BSteves and Craig deserve a standing ovation for the executive organizational duties.

Thanks to Seth and his crew from American Kayak Supply for the generous donation of prizes to the HOW raffle and keeping the checkout/weigh-in station running smoothly.

Kudos to Craig, Sam, Sherm and Tanner in the batter and hot oil department. Thanks to Barb and the rest of the fish cutters, and everyone that brought food for the potluck.

Thanks to Next Adventure and Lancer Jigs for the goodies in the captain's bags.

Gracias to the City of Depoe Bay, the Harbor Master the USCG.

If you couldn't make it don't despair the 2020 edition of ORC is only a year away.

+1 on everything Lingbanger mentioned.

I want to say that American Kayak Supply did a really great job on every part they played in this year's ORC.
They were at the launch area and set up by 430 getting safety checks rolling for those ready to hit the water at 0500.  Thank you, Seth, and (I didn't get names of the others), them too.

Big thanks go to Craig and Brian for such a smooth laid back ORC that just flowed nearly as perfect as one would want.
Sam, thanks for getting the fish fry and potluck in order in such short notice.

All in all a big success, with great weather, and ocean conditions.

Oh, and Casey....you are banned from raffles!   :whip2:

Just got back and cleaned up.  What a great time!  So good to see some old friends and meet some new ones.  Depoe Bay and Chinook Bend are both special places.

HUGE thanks to all the organizers and AKS.  I know it's a huge job to organize and run an event like this.  Excellent work, and much appreciated.
