I've been lurking around this forum for a few days and I must say I'm impressed with your combined knowledge and skills. I look forward to learning more from you all in the coming months and years.    ^-^

As my nym suggests, I'm a complete noob when it comes to fishing in the Puget Sound (also a big Rick and Morty fan - wubba dubba dub dub!). I live right on Echo Lake in Shoreline where the trout are plentiful and quite easy to catch using Power Bait. Fishing here can be relaxing but also a little boring.

This year I decided to go all out and try to bag me some salmon. I've been on a few uneventful trips up up to the Skagit and Skykomish. Catching Chinook from the banks of a river is definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. Then I started reading about kayak fishing and thought, "Wow I should have tried this a long time ago!" I mean you get a good cardio work out, fresh air and big fish all in one go? Win win win!

I have a Pescador Pilot on order which should arrive within a couple weeks. I noticed most of you have Hobies but I decided to try the Pilot as it was quite a bit cheaper and I couldn't find any used Hobies for sale online. Funny because I noticed a member selling his this morning after my Pilot had already shipped.

I'm going to do some laps around the lake with it to test everything out as one of you suggested. I'll also be testing and pushing my endurance to figure out what my own limitations are. Hopefully I'll get everything up and running while the resident silvers are still gorging themselves out in area 10. Anyone else fish for those guys lately?

Yes, you should have tried kayak fishing - and this forum - a long time ago.  What the heck is wrong with you?  Glad you finally made it and welcome to NWKA.

And if this helps you feel better, Hobies are not the end all and be all of kayaks.  They're a good starting point, and you should have been here when I sold mine...   >:D
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
