I have been watching the forecast and thinking about an early launch to chase salmon.

anyone else considering a mid-week outing?

also, any recent reports on the salmon bite in that area would be greatly appreciated.   ;D

cheers, roger

I am considering there or PC. Most likely depoe. I will try to launch near 545 or so.

excellent, I was thinking about 5:45 also, if I don't see you at the launch, I'll be monitoring ch69.  with wind expected out of the north, my initial plan is to head north and start trolling off Government Pt.

long (5:45am to 12:15pm) awesome day for me, 0-3 (crushing take-downs that just didn't stick), all at 160 feet, 54F water...fish checker had only logged in 35 salmon as of 12:30pm...Zach, I believe, had better results than I did... ;D

I picked up one and caught a wild. It was a slow day. Roger I think you misheard the fish checker. At 1130 mine was the first she saw that day. I know she checked in a group with 20 rockfish at 12.

The fish I did catch was a bit bigger than the ones in the past.

you are correct, I only heard her reply to the PB over at the dock, based on what she told you, I think they probably ask her how many salmon were caught Tuesday.  or maybe how many rockfish had been checked in so far.
