Well I don't want anyone to be too shocked, but I actually have posted a 2nd video for the year, which is a new record for me  ;D

This one's a bit longer; I try to keep them short but I had too much fun on this day and had to share it, so this is a good one for a lunch break or chillin' time in the evening. Let me know what you think of the longer format; I'm always curious what people like.

On this day I got my personal best smallmouth at 18.5", but there's plenty bigger ones out there right where I was fishing. The fish are still biting, so go get 'em!

Love the video! I’ve always wanted to fish that area. Thank you for sharing and keep’em coming.

Thanks, appreciate it! It's a really great area with all kinds of different structure to find fish in.

Great video. If I wasn't residing the house I'd be out there now.  Time to get it  finished so I can get some time on the water.

Excellent Fall weather and fishing for the two of you.  If you hit the same area at dawn or dusk in early Fall you can get into a good topwater bite.  "Boom goes the dynamite", type explosions. ;)

Sorry to hear you've been sick and glad you made it off the couch.

NICE!  What fish ruler are you using?  I've not seen a folding ruler as wide as that - the ones I've seen are skinny little things.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I hear you on the house stuff! I don't have anything as big as that going on but trying to finish my woodshed before the rain and other fall projects. Good luck on the house.

I appreciate the info on the topwater bite. I have yet to catch a smallmouth topwater but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks, Tinker! The measuring board is the YakGear Fish Stik. https://www.amazon.com/YakGear-Fish-Stik-Sunset-Orange/dp/B073SCP381

Even though it was a bit spendy I tried it out and it immediately was my favorite fish ruler. It's kind of heavy but it floats and it's just the right size for most of what I do. My only gripe is the same as most of the plastic ones: the hour you get to spend with your favorite Sharpie filling in the lines.

Thank you for the information, Cap'n.  When I think about the fish that got away while I was fumbling around trying to get my Hawg Trough out of the bungees in the rear well, something like this is a bargain.

Very cool video! I've been trying to find a drysuit for my wife so we can go out together. She doesn't want to buy a new one though because she doesn't know how much she will use it. I'm tempted just to bring one home.

Just get her a wetsuit, that’s what I wear and my wife also has one.

It's true - there's lots of options. Or waders and a dry top, etc.

We already have plenty of wet suits from scuba diving, but I would like her to be comfortable. I know some people can put up with a wetsuit on a kayak, but there is no way she would ever enjoy it. There suggestion of waders and a dry top seems like a good alternative.  We did find a used suit she is going to check out this weekend for a good price, so hoping it works out.
