08 Outback (bent valves) Subaru NOT Hobie!!!

Threw the timing belt on TLW’s Subaru last Tuesday. Towed to my shop and found the belt in half. Stuck another belt on to see if we got the golden kinda luck and avoided the catastrophe.... sadly no compression. Put a video scoop down the spark plug holes to see what I already knew happened. Two pistons struck the valves when the valves were in the up position, bending them (see pic).
  So TLW decided not to sink another $2000 into it since it already has a few other issues and flaws. Now we decide if we’re selling it as is for someone to repair or part it out, I got the time and room.
    So if anyone needs parts for one speak up, or if someone wants a project car ( I got a guy that has a 60,000 mile 09 long block replacement for $2000) we’re just not going to do it. It’s got a couple dent, lots of scratches, mostly new suspension bushings, could use struts, and some other stuff (minor) wrong with it. Make me an offer if your interested, it has a reconstructed title. I’ll post up pictures of the car later but here’s the scope photo. Would consider trading it for an older economy car or suv, gotta have room for the grandkids and dogs.

Some pics (editing two at a time) it has 16 inch steel wheels with a full size spare on the same rim. Door dent and roof dent.

Has a lot of roof scratches hard to see and yes all but the bumper paint damage and dents are due to kayak fishing..... bumper was cuz I backed into a concrete block ( only cracked the paint) the bumper is intact.

Mojo, you ought to edit the title of this thread to "08 Subaru Outback (bent valves)." When I checked out the postings, I assumed that they involved a 2008 Hobie Outback.
