Spring is always an exciting time. Water temps finally climbed out of the 30's so I decided to try a local pond for Largemouth Bass. The first Virginia Rails were buzzing in the cattails and Red-winged Blackbirds were busy divvying up the marsh. I cycled through a variety of baits but spinnerbait came out on top with two chunky greenfish to break the ice on the first bass of the year. Also had a visit from a couple of the resident otters.
