I have looked around online for updates if the ramp has been repaired but have not found any.  Does anyone have firsthand knowledge?

The ramp itself is fine just a bit rough where the sand/rocks begin and there is still not much beach on higher tides.  There is a barrier at top of ramp that you could move out of the way if you really want to drive down onto the beach to unload, that’s what the dory guys are doing right now.  About 10 dories out there this past Monday. The barrier is really just to keep cars (non fishing/kayak rigs) from driving on to the beach given the conditions.

Really best to park in the lot and roll your yak down at this point.   Looks like the beach will be better by about May.

Thanks for the update Devon. I especially don’t mind walking my kayak down from the parking lot if it means keeping droves of people off the beach. Secret fisherman’s handshake for beach access...

Thanks for the update!  Rolling your yak to the water will be so much easier without a bunch of idiots tearing up the sand.

I find the whole area within 100 yards of the Pelican brewpub to be loathsome between 10am and 10pm on any nice weekend spring and fall, and any summer day. I would love a taxi service with a yak trailer to get me from some distant parking lot to the beach and back.

Things are back to normal at PC, more sand on the beach, the tiles have been put down at end of ramp and of course lots of spring break folks are back to driving on the beach.  Fishing has been great as well!

Dangit! Just finished loading up the trailer! Wish I would have loaded the pickup. Oh well...
