I made it down to Pacific City this morning.  The ramp down to the beach was in good shape for my truck.  Sand was a bit soft,  tide was inbound.  I got there about 7am so loads of room to park.  Got on the water about 7:30.  Surf was quite low so easy launch.   Got out to the rock and was plunking around with not much success.  A dory boat motored by and tossed me some great info where they had limited out on rockfish.   Thanks Dory Anglers,   it was a great tip.   Moved over toward the north side of the rock.   First fish was an underling.  Second fish was a real nice 30" blue ling, my biggest fish out there.    Then I caught a monster cabezon,  and yes, no picture so it didn't happen.   Very nice fish and it's still out there waiting for July 1.   Caught a second ling so changed "bait" looking for some rockfish.    Finally found some in the same area but they weren't heavy on the bite.   Found one that was pretty good size but the others were a bit smaller.   Tossed a few back,  kept three.   Made it back to the beach about 9:30 with an easy landing directly in front of my truck.   Super nice day and great to be back out on the ocean!

"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."
