I didn't mean you, Cap'n.  I'm trying to think of an occasion when I might say bless you (you know I'm not serious, you've been a great inspiration and help to me).  I fish from a Trident 13, and they are great boats.

Haha, no problem. Yeah I thought that's what you had. Two is better than one?  ;D

Yeah, I'm down to two kayaks (soon to be one) out in the garage where I once had five of them, and it's looking a bit too empty.  That's an unbeatable price.  I paid more than that for my previously owned Trident 13 and I thought I got a bargain on it.

Trident is sooooold to Tinker!
Todays offer - a Diablo Amigo package including the Amigo, Larry Chair, and Bending Branches Angler Classic paddle. Basically the opposite of the Trident: super stable platform that is incredible for fly fishing in lakes and floating down rivers as well as duck hunting. MSRP on this package is $1,250. NWKA curbside pickup: $750.
Length: 12'8"
Width: 38"
Weight: 75 lbs
Capacity: 600 lbs
Video of fly fishing for trout from the Amigo (dang, look at that stability! Such stable wow!):

Congrats Tinker! :banjo:  I was really considering that T13 for myself.  If I didn't already have my heart set on a new Outback I would have got that instead.  I was actually trying to think of ways I could get both without losing my current sleeping arrangements...  ;D

Now I just need to figure out how to get to it and get it home.  I'm not sure "picking up a new kayak" is essential travel except to me.  If I can get as far as Salem, my kid will store it for me until I can pick it up.

It would indeed be a bit hypocritical to bemoan others for traveling to fish alone, but driving 230 miles to pick up a second or third kayak is okay, but you do you.

Now back to our regularly scheduled discussion:

I'd like to thank Next Adventure for a smooth, hassle-free transaction - and for finding the Trident 13.  They're a great group to work with and I'm happy I had a chance to help them a little during this odd period in our country's history.

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys!

I used to fish from an OK Malibu 2 - while less narrow than optimal, the bow shape allowed me to ride waves into shore w/o digging into the water. Which was perfect, because I only did surf launches/retrievals. How is the T13 for catching waves? Seems like a lot of fishing kayaks have bows that just want to dig into the water and send you stern over bow (see my profile pic for an example).

Can't speak for all of them, but I've owned a T11 and a T13, one of the kids has an OK Tetra 10, and that guy I fish with most often has an OK Prowler 12.  They all have the same bow design and they're all great in the surf and swells.  Last year I got caught between two opposing surf lines trying to shoot trough a narrow opening in a reef, one shoving me forward and the other coming right at me, and my T13 rode over it without so much as bucking.

My favorite day was out in a coastal lake when the wind came up and I had to paddle back into 2 foot whitecaps.  The bow of the trident would ride up and come down, spraying water out to the sides just like those news clips of WW II battleships in heavy seas.  I felt like a genuine mariner that day.

I like the OK bow a lot.  If you can get your hands on a Trident, I recommend it.  If you can get one from Next Adventure, I highly recommend it!

Alright, got another deal coming up, but first...
Things are tough right now for pretty much everybody. Most of us get our venting in while fishing, and the fact that we're restricted on that front only makes the situation more frustrating for all of us. Please keep it respectful while we're all going through this together. None of us have anything to gain by being sour with our fellow anglers. Consider that the day may come when the person you're throwing shade at in the forum may well have to tow your sinking kayak in, and that'd be a hell of a lot more awkward if you were a dick to them beforehand.
Now, with that out of the way, TODAYS DEALIO! Wilderness Systems Radar 135 - she's sat outside our warehouse for a few days, so she's a little dirty but has never been used. MSRP on one of these fishing machines is $1,199. NWKA Curbside Pickup.... $800! You also have the option to add the Helix pedal drive down the road if you wanna!

Ran out of the low hanging fruit, but I've got some more stuff coming from our storage unit in Scappoose later today. I'll get it all posted up here once we've got it checked in!

Alright! Found this awesome demo Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100 at our Scappoose Bay shop - if I had to guess I'd say it's been used approximately 1-2 times. Barely any hull rash at all! NWKA Curbside Pickup Deal: $400!!! SOOOOLD!!
