Guess that’s changed since I had my accident, 3 guys that worked at the garbage company I did all lived in Vancouver, non of them had state taxes taken out, bought all there supplies in Oregon and only paid taxes on property and there cars.. besides a few minimum things. They always tried to talk us Oregon guys into moving up there.
Hmmm... I have been here 18 years and all my co-workers that live in Washington have always had to pay Oregon taxes.  Your co-workers must have had a good shady accountant. ;)  My co-workers bitch about it and I tell them they should just move to Oregon and stop bitching, or find a job in Washington.  Both are simple solutions especially since they all transferred from other states and knew that in advance.  What is funny is now our place of employment is even closer to Washington (by the airport) and they bitch even more about how bad traffic is trying to get off Airport Way onto the I-205.  I laugh everyday at their misfortune as I drive by the line of traffic as I get on 205 south. They were warned.  I can get home quicker to my SW PDX metro suburb than they can get to Camas. Again, I remind them that life is all about choices, and they chose poorly. :)

I used to work with a guy that lived in the Couv and worked at Intel in Oregon.  He didn't like it when I suggested that both the I-5 and I-205 should be changed to toll bridges.  Oregon gets the money one direction, and Washington gets the money from the other direction.  Easy peasy.  Money would only be spent on the state road/bridge maintenence and repairs and not nothing else.

He didn't feel that it was "fair" that he would have to pay both directions every day.  I asked him "who do you think puts the most wear and tear on these bridges/roads, you or me"?  I would happily pay the toll the few times a year that I cross with bridge, rightfully so.  That and ban the freaking studded tires already!  Seriously!

YES! Ban the stupid studded tires.
