At the last minute decided to get out so went to Hagg Lake. Kayaked around for 3 hours.  Got a little windy, good exercise.

I get an unexpected call from the UK, I ignored it the first time because I had a fish on.  He kept calling and I finally answered it figuring crank callers from the UK wouldn’t try that hard to get ahold of me. Glad I did, ended up being an important work related call.  A few minutes into the call my pole starts dancing. Between the wind wanting to blow me onto shore (I had to steer with one hand and hold my phone, now out of its waterproof case and lanyard) with the other hand, I left the pole alone figuring I’d be off the phone soon. I dragged that poor trout around for 1/2 hour before I could finally reel him in. Fish was still fighting! Caught 2 single serving trout, both really swallowed the hook deep so I kept them. Supper was great!

Awesome to get out and getting some fish even better! I have been itching to get out really bad so I am gonna drag my kayak down the trail at Hobsonville point this week sometime and try to get a springer or two.

I wanna know how the other end of the call reacted to the news you were out fishing in Tupperware and had a fish on...
