I get a lot of inquiries about fishing Kokanee Lake Chelan. The lake is huge, deep, with limited access points, and the Kokanee are highly nomadic. I put together an instruction video covering Kokanee migration, depth data, launch points, troll lanes, and safety considerations.

An exceptional video!  Sorry I don’t have a youtube account to subscribe or I most definitely would do so.

I’d heard Lake Chelan was a good kokanee fishery but every time I drive past  there are whitecaps.

Do you mind describing your no down-rigger setup?  Didn’t seem you were using weighted line.  I tried weighted line a few times on Lake Stevens and found it quite difficult to manage.

I explain the system I use here.

I’ve been using your slip sinker technique on one rod and a downrigger with the other. So far it’s been about even. The cannonballs seem to have fewer tangles than the inline sinkers and are quick to change.
It didn’t take long to learn to let line out slowly.
