Kayaker in Humboldt county CA got hit by the Landlord. He made a couple of mistakes that we should all take note of: Fishing alone, bleeding a fish and hanging it off his yak.
He had a good outcome, but very easily could of gone south fast.

Offshore without a buddy...  but fortunately he did well.  Glad he had a radio and once he gets his gear replaced bet he’ll be back on the water.

2015 Jackson Big Tuna (tandem) (dark forest)
2016 Hobie Outback LE (screamin' orange)
2014 KC Kayaks K12 (the better half's, in camo)

The lingcod was between his legs when the shark hit his kayak.

His VHF failed. It couldn’t transmit but could receive.  I suspect it lacked a burp function and failed because it got dunked.

CA DFW has his kayak right now for study/analysis. He should get it back on Monday.

He’s been really open about discussing it on our Facebook group.  Great attitude.
