okay,  is the beach open for kayak launching vehicles? I look at the Tillamook county site and they say only dory boats can use the beach but I look at the pcdorymen website and the posted resolution and it says that "motor vehicles essential to boat launchings" are allowed.

What's the current situation?  Is it roll kayaks down from the parking lot or are we allowed on the beach?

was there last weekend and there were a bunch of kayak rigs, trailers on the beach. The better half had my truck so I parked in the lot and dragged mine back and forth. Looked wide open to kayak launch vehicles at least on Saturday

Commissioners specifically mentioned kayaks and zodiacs as being included in "boat launching" there is a sign down there that the dorymen put up stating dory launching only. Pay no mind to it.

How do you open the gate? Last time I was there it was locked, and had to launch in parking lot.

I was planning on it but then I checked the wind forecast about 20 minutes ago.  Now I am not so sure.  I guess I could go drop a crab pot for a couple hours while drinking Pelican beer.

Pay a bit of money to the Doryman's association, and you will have no issues.  They maintain things and help people out when stuck.  Although they have not needed to since they put the gate up. https://pcdorymen.com/donation_reporting/

Thanks! I just donated. I actually meant to join last year, but their online donations didn't work, and the paper form I printed out to send in sat on my desk for the last year....
