I've only used this thing twice to smoke salmon and although it works perfectly, I could use a few more square inches of space in the garage, so it has to go.

It's this unit: https://www.masterbuilt.com/collections/smokers/products/mes-130-b-digital-electric-smoker, and $228.00 is what I paid for the unit itself, but there's more!  I have an all-weather cover and bags and bags of various wood chips to go along with it.  A $300.00 value, all yours for the low-low price of $100 - or best offer.

I'm way down south, but if anyone is passing through or nearby, it's a great smoker and has done an excellent job for me on the two salmon I've smoked. Let me know...

(I've removed the pictures but can show them again if anyone wants to see them)

That is pretty far south...

I do have an older model of that Masterbuilt though and I will attest to the fact that it is indeed a very nice smoker--$100 is a steal.  Maybe I need to do a surf trip down to Crescent City...

Masterbuilt smokers are excellent and reasonably priced.  I had a four-rack smoker just like Tinker's, but I wanted a bigger smoker, so I sold it to a friend (there's a recommendation right there), and bought a six-rack Masterbuilt smoker.

A number of folks are still heading down this way for the (CANCELLED) Angler of the Day get-together.  It might be possible for someone to move it a lot further North and much closer to you.  Or you could take a surfing trip.  It's in nicer-than-$100 condition but my location dictates what I can hope to get for it.

Thanks for your interest (and your good humor).

Thank you, Peter.  They are indeed very nice smokers, and if I could simply catch more salmon... but alas.

Hey!  Maybe if I didn't have a smoker at home just waiting for a nice salmon, maybe I'll catch more.  It could happen!  Someone, please take this off my hands!

I'll be down that way for the cancelled AOTD and I will have my truck so if someone up this way wants to buy it I can transport it back up north for ya.  :icon_thumleft:

Is it the model with the side chip tray? I know the one you linked has that but I just wanted to verify, the side chip tray is a nice to have because you don't have to open the smoker to reload which is nice for longer hotter cooks. If so then I'll take it and take Ray up on the offer to mule it up for me.

If what you mean is "Does it have the tube-shaped, drawer-like side chip loader thing for adding more chips?" then yes, Matt, it does have the side chip tray and you do not have to open the door to add more chips.

And if you meant something else entirely, ask me again and I'll try to get it right.

If what you mean is "Does it have the tube-shaped, drawer-like side chip loader thing for adding more chips?" then yes, Matt, it does have the side chip tray and you do not have to open the door to add more chips.

But if you meant "Does it load chips automatically?" then no, it does not have an automatic chip loader.  You have to do it manually through the little tube-shaped drawer-thingy.

And if you meant something else entirely, ask me again and I'll try to get it right.

You nailed the question. I have been looking at the masterbuilt smokers for some time now and most of the sales involve the models that require opening the door to replace the chips, this model has the tub from the side which keeps the heat (and remaining smoke) contained inside the chamber.

I'll shoot you a PM to get payment info and we can sort out the transportation either with Ray, or I am headed down that direction (to Reedsport area) come labor day weekend if it doesn't work out for him to grab it.

And I'll be happy to see you in Reedsport if Ray piddles on us.  chances are the salmon will be in Winchester Bay around then.

Thank you, Matt.

I wish it would've worked out to get down there that weekend but sadly it did not. AOTD was the one I look forward to most each year, next year will be better than ever!  I sent Tinker the money so if you can make arrange for a pickup without much effort for both of you then awesome, if not then I'll be down in Reedsport Labor day weekend and can arrange pickup myself.

No problem Matt.  I can bring it back up north with me.
