At the risk of jinxing it... anyone going to PC Thursday (9-10)

I think I have my wife convinced to join me out on the ocean.  She's hoping to see some whales..  Anyone planning on going out?  I'd like to have some company with her and I in the Oasis.  Its not her first time in the kayak but it is her first time in the ocean.

The launch (for me) was easy today.  Heliumhead and Brandon didn't have as easy of a time with the launch.  Both of them stayed in their boats but they both got their faces washed pretty good.  Brandon got it twice in the face but he made it out there.  Not bad for his first time in the ocean and with a surf launch.  The fishing was good today... for about 2 hours and then the fog/smoke was so thick we couldn't see Haystack Rock or the point so we decided to call it a day.  I caught 2 rocks (one went home with me), 2 Lings (one under-sized) and a nice greenling.  I had a bunch of bites that just never stuck.  Brandon got one under-sized Ling.  Gulp minnows were the hot ticket for me today.  The last 2 photos are what the conditions were like when we got back to beach.  I think I am looking out towards Haystack Rock in one of them but you'd never be able to tell.

Anyone know what this might be.  Looks to be a skeleton from something.  Looks to be mostly cartilage.  My guess was some bits of Mola Mola.  There were some other parts out there too.

Those cartilage bits are from the wings of a Skate or ray.

Caught a couple large Cabbies and a large black rockfish then headed back in with Ray and Brandon when visibility went to zero due to smoke and fog. The panorama shot is from when we were about to launch, visibility went down from there.

Here is another picture from that Skate(?).  This must be the skull and nose.
