At the risk of jinxing it... anyone going to PC Thursday (9-10)

I think I have my wife convinced to join me out on the ocean.  She's hoping to see some whales..  Anyone planning on going out?  I'd like to have some company with her and I in the Oasis.  Its not her first time in the kayak but it is her first time in the ocean.

Too late, you jinxed it!  Waaaayyy too soon to post your intentions based on predictions, and then post the predictions this far out.   

This should have been on the down low, more like this:
 "If the conditions are favorable on Thursday, anyone want to join the wife and I at XYZ ramp, at blah blah time?" 

Then on Tues, you should be pretty safe posting actual predictions for Thursday (and you'll know better as well if it will be a "Ray" day. 

Just say'n.

If you want whales you may want to check out Depoe Bay. They have more whales than PC.

Whales were scarce yesterday.
Keda Girl, Eagle Eye, and Comet were all looking for and coming up empty on the whales.
Commercial guy say he saw them headed west.
NOAA research boat saw two between Newport and Depoe.

Sounds good Rudy.  I think we will end up at PC.  I prefer there over Depoe Bay.

In June I watched what I thought was a drunken shark surfacing and diving and hanging around, for what seemed like ten minutes. Turns out it was a friendly mola mola just saying hi.

Last time out during my epic crab fail, I paddled next to one for a bit. That is one strange creature.

Anyone else unable to fish mid week and willing to deal with the zoo? Although after braving the Columbia this last weekend I am guessing it will seem like a private party.

If the forecast holds and the smoke blows out, then I'm going to fight the crowd either Sat or Sun.

Here’s my front door shot, there’s a fire 3 miles north of us “Pike Rd fire” over 100 acres right now torching the Idaville area looks to be moving up to Bay City.

I took a quick drive through Yamhill on my way home from work this morning to check out the Cherry Grove/Hagg Lake fire.  It didn't look too bad in that stretch of the highway, but when I got within a few miles of Yamhill, it looked like I was at the base of Dante's Peak or Mars.  At 830am I had to use full headlights to see, and for other cars to see me.  Sky was a very very dark orange/black over the town of Yamill.  I can just imagine that all of that smoke is heading straight for PC.

We’re level 1  for evacuation right now. Got my utility trailer out front on the bronco, if we get level 2 I load up what I can in it and start packing the 5th wheel for pulling out. My kids on the way from work in Cornelius to help if we get to that point. My scrapper lives in Otis and his house was said to be leveled, he haven’t got to go look fir himself yet. All he got out with was his truck his wife and his dog.
