Anyone else heading out? Surfers are gonna hate life, but the ocean looks to be pretty ideal except you can't see for squat. You could see the rock this morning on the Kiwanda RV Webcam but not now. Hopefully we get lucky and the smokes lightens up a bit. Heading south, dropping crab pot (first try with the McKay), trolling south for salmon and bottom fishing if that doesnt pan out.

Hopefully there will be other yaks out

I was planning on it, but then got the greenlight for tuna out of Ilwaco (north of the smoke).

Good luck to all who go.

Smoke looks horrible.  Hard to turn down 1-2 ft seas, but I am likely going to pass this time.

Couldn't talk my buddy into PC, so I'm just gonna float the Cowlitz and kill salmon instead.

I am jealous, my wife won't let me come out and play in the smoke.

Not a bad day  :) I talked with 5 kayaks that had limits and there were some really nice big fish 30+ on a scale (minnow magnet of course). Going to be hard to stay home tomorrow. Everyone was back on the beach by 11

Smoke is way worse at my place in West Linn than on the ocean. Visibility was very bad, but not the dense smoke like here

That is a great catch!!

When looking at the webcams and seeing all the smoke I was glad I stayed home....Now I am not so sure anymore ???

Did you have to go out far for these?

Got mine just south of the rock where I was dropping my crab pot. 50-60’ FOW, 50’ on the line counter, herring.  Killing me I am not out again today. Just found out the Columbia is open and may sneak out there later.
