I'm seeing 3' swell on 9s, light winds and just a chance of some fog and light drizzle.  Higher swell is coming in but not until late-afternoon.

If there isn't heavy fog, my plan is to launch about 8am and be done by about 1pm.  Heading west toward Baltimore Rock to try and pick up a pair of lings and some rockfish in and around those reefs just west of Sunset Bay.   cheers, roger

Wish I was there. I haven't been out on the ocean once this year. Good luck.

if the two good sized Cabezon I released early had been lingcod, it would have been perfect, but hooking and fighting them was a treat, clean release on both.
Launched at sunrise, went about a mile NW to past Baltimore Rock, a bit more mixed swell and east wind than I hoped for but after working the reefs for 4 hours, we took home a full house of black rockfish (three 2-pounders and a pair of 3-pounders.).  First test of the beach wheels for the BooneDOX landing gear, real sweet.  I will post a review of their landing gear after I use it at Siltcoos one more time.  The SAI aluminum rudder is becoming a big favorite of mine, no data to back this up, but the Outback feels more responsive at low speeds.

none of the 4 boats I talked to could find any lings there today, but there is lots of kelp just outside Sunset Bay and I think you could have some fun fishing that with light gear.

She really sticks like glue to that rear deck, instinctively stays down much of the time plus she has three 'stay down' commands, in order of urgency:  down, touche, and 'cheeks on the ground'.  Plus she has great balance and has been riding on my various Hobies for 8 years now.

When we did our roll and recovery practice on the new Outback, to make sure I could get her back on, then climb on myself, and then get into the seat, I had a heck of a time getting her into the water.

This image is a little dark but I have the Outback pulled over to about a 45degree angle and she is just wagging her tail and licking my face.  I ended up having to climb on the rear deck with her and push her into the water to accomplish our practice.

In tidewater/ocean, with her laying on the back deck and the seat in the lowest position, that Outback is rock solid.  If she gets up and moves around on the back, it feels about the same as if I was alone with the seat in the highest position.

here's the video link, the low profile of the Outback let's me basically treat it like a surfboard:
