What do scams look like as a seller? Folks lowballing you?

Usually requests to respond to a private email (usually containing typos) instead of Craigslist’s encryption service or a vague response requesting I answer via text. Weary to give an email or phone number on Craigslist before I know a buyer is serious.

Bump, reduced price

If you are not strapped for cash right now, I would look at holding off on selling until early spring when folks start looking at buying toys for the year. Better chance of folks having disposable money from tax returns and such. I would suspect that with Christmas within just weeks, money is going to be used closer to the tree for others.  Not to say a kayak wouldn't be an awesome Christmas gift!

So, if you can just hold off till at least March and try again at your original asking price. Odds are good that it will sell.

If you can swing it, you should definitely see  more opportunities for potential buyers in the spring.

Another tip for upping your odds.

Put the kayak in a couple enticing slices of water and get some scenic pictures of it it's intended environment.

This goes a LONG way in helping a person on the fence to buy, to actually charge forward and pay top dollar just because you made it look fun.

Good luck!
