Hello All,

I retired recently, and then bought my retirement ride (a 2020 Hobie Outback) a couple of months ago.  I haven't done much fishing for many years, but I plan to change that.  I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I've enjoyed catching flatfish off Picnic Point a few times now.  I had a brisk pedal there a few days ago, until sunset and building whitecaps chased me in.

I have a lot to learn about how to catch fish in this region, and I look forward to joining others to share the experience.  Saltwater, fresh water... any kind of fishing.

Congrats on the retirement and the Outback!  I did the same thing about 3 years ago (retired and bought an Outback) and loved the Hobies so much I got a part time job selling them (helps pay for all the accessories and gear too).

There's a bunch of us in the area.

Kevin

Welcome to the NWKA forum.  This is a great place to learn with members sharing their wisdom.  Be sure to search the archives.  I have about three years left before I pull the plug on retirement.  Building my toybox now in anticipation.

Welcome!  We will have to get you hooked up to some summer kings and coho off the oil docks in Edmonds!  If you ever see an orange native slayer peddling around out there trying and failing to catch any salmon, come say hi!

Thanks for all the replies.  It sounds like I am in good company.  I'm really happy with the Outback, so far, and I think I made the right choice.  Rustyski - I'll watch for you in Edmonds.

The Outback is a sweet ride.  I enjoy mine and it is a great fishing platform.  It is a nice middle ground between the Revolutions and the Pro Anglers.
