Thanks again everyone for your input! I was torn for a while between the Garmin Echomap 73sv with 54 transducer, and the Lowrance Elite Ti2 with 3 in 1 transducer, but I just found the Lowrance on Amazon today for only $499. So that ended up being the deciding factor. Can't wait to mount it on my new Outback n try it out! Does anyone have any tips on the setup of this unit?

Thanks for the heads up -- mine gets in this Wednesday. I'll be mounting it on my Revo 13; I forgot to order a BerlyPro transducer mount so I'm going to try to thermoform one from PVC sheeting. Will let you know how it goes!

If you're getting the Lowrance it wouldn't hurt to buy an extra power cord and some dielectric grease. Corrosion is a bitch, and the cause of nearly all my fish finder issues.

Good to know!
Does the Revo have the retractable guardian plate, like my Outback?
Not sure if I'll get the BerleyPro, but a lil extra protection can't hurt!
I'll for sure do what I can to guard against corrosion, thanks for the tip!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

The BerlyPro doesn't retract and protrudes about 3" below the hull. It's made out of some hardcore ABS plastic so don't worry about damaging the transducer if you run aground. Use dielectric grease on all your terminals, disconnect your battery before the head unit, and use heat shrink butt terminals for your wire connections then wrap them in electrical tape.

I ordered the $499 Lowrance Elite 7 Ti2 off of Amazon -- the seller, Getfeetwet Navigation,  sent me a Simrad GO7 instead. Not excited about trusting UPS to deliver my return, and the seller to refund me, so I won't be buying expensive equipment from small Amazon retailers anymore.

Anywho, I'm thinking about buying either a Humminbird Helix 7 SI, or Garmin Striker Plus 7SV for use in the sound. A guy at Bass Pro Shops indicated that Humminbird doesn't see much use in saltwater, but it sounded like he was drawing from secondhand information. I'd love to hear any thoughts that folks have on either of these two fish finders for saltwater use.

Thanks for the reminder of the dielectric grease.  I often forget about that...........

Got my Elite (purchased from same Amazon seller as BogueYaker) all wired up today.
I try to turn it on, nothing but a black screen and a single beep. Battery is good, connections all good.
Will have to contact Lowrance customer service.
Anyone else ever run into this problem?

Are you getting 12v+ at the power terminal to the head unit?

Press the power button a few times after it boots and see if it's just set on super dim, if that doesn't work probably a bad backlight. Amazon will replace it way faster and cheaper than Lowrance, but worth the call the tech support.

Checked the power at the display connection, all good there, tried every trick with the buttons I read about, no go!
So I returned to Amazon, and ordered a refurbished one from Lowrance, for $47 more than I initially paid, with free shipping.
It has a one year warranty. Hopefully this one will power up.
It was a bummer to get the transducer all wired thru the Outback and mounted on the guardian, only to have the head unit not work.
