Hey all,

Does anyone know if this spot is worth checking out. I have been doing C + R at swan Island industrial area and want to try a new spot.

I'm thinking nearby ENRG kayaking. Between Oregon city arch bridge and Willamette fall hydroelectric power Resv. structures?

I went late last year, for the first time, trying to get some coho.
There were indeed some deep holes, with some big fish in em, according to my finder.
I assume they were dinos, don't know if they are there now, but would love to come help ya find out...
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Cool! I'll be out there checking it out this weekend. Probably launch around 10-11ish.

I've paddled around the area, in my old 10 ft rig,  in the past but haven't fished it, or been out there since I got my new larger set up.

Cool

I'll be in a blue perception  pilot. I got a Garmin  striker 4 to mark holes/fish.

You may want to rethink that until flows really drop.  This was taken last week:

Thanks for the heads up

I wasn't planning on getting that close to the falls. In past paddling sessions I don't think I was able to get anywhere close to where this pic(video thumbnail) was taken, because of flow. If it looks anything like this it will probably be a short trip, if I get in the water at all.

Just called eNRG kayaking who are right down there on the water at Willamette Falls.

They said the water has calmed down since last week, but it is by no means at a summer time type of flow. eNRG said last week it was flowing about 12x what it does in the summer, with water in the parking lot and debris all over the river. He said its calmed down since last week, the river is running about 5x its summer flow, the water isn't in the parking lot and the debris has cleared.

I plan to still, cautiously, check it out....

Wow, that's some big muddy water!
Will be interesting to see how much it's settled by the weekend.
I marked a lot of fish under/around the bridge, in the fall, was a lot less current there.
Even then though, the flow was pretty quick once I got upstream in the channel.
We'll probably want or have to fish no higher than the bridge.

Watch out for logs.  That current is going to suck and the logs will be coming fast.

Hard to anchor up there too. Might head to Swan Island instead.

Looks like I have to do family stuff tomorrow, but would love to hit Swan next week, depending on rain and river.
My new Outback has yet to touch the water....
