fyi, just saw this on the ODFWweekly digest email.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."
--Edward Abbey--

It's because of that darned Captain Redbeard fellow pulling hat tricks up in Tillamook Bay, by golly.  >:D
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Ha! Thanks. I'm all for this if it keeps the season going longer.

exactly, bottom fishing open all year is very important to many of us.  For me, December is when I plan to be hunting for big lingcod in lower CoosBay and pulling up limits of big full crab there also.  C&Ring lingcod is just not my thing, eating them is.

I'm just blame-shifting, Cap'n.  The last time I competed in AOTY was the year ODFW closed the bottomfish season... it's obvious I'm a jinx.  :o
