Ocean conditions suck, and rivers are too warm, but has anyone been fishing Tillamook, Nestucca or Netarts bay?

If so, how's it been?
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

I know they used to get some in Siletz Bay in July. It gets better later. I believe they have a few in Nestucca this time of year but you can't retain wild until later. Check the regs. I saw a guy land one off the boat ramp on the spit in July a couple of yeas ago. I'd expect it's slow fishing but not impossible. We are staying over at PC this weekend so I'll do some recon at the river.

I'm launching out of Fogarty Thur-Friday and most likely again next Tue-Wed to chase salmon, so I'm hoping to report that ocean conditions that did suck, have stopped sucking, and don't suck anymore. lol

Nehalem has a "summer run" of Chinook. Heard of a few being caught there in the bay lately, but it's hardly a lights-out kind of fishery.

Ocean looks to be laying down for a while starting tomorrow. Your odds of success will be significantly higher fishing the ocean. Coho bite's been amazing this year  ;D. I don't usually start fishing the bays til mid-August.

Thanks for the info guys!
Yeah, Lincoln city forecast isn't looking too terrible.
What time ya launching Tue and or Wed Dodger? I may join ya!
Do you have any plans to go out Clay? Been wanting to see ya in action for a while....
Figure I'd have to be able to learn a few things, you always seem to slay it!

I'm targeting a 6:30am launch tomorrow, low is about 11am.  I scan all the normal channels when I'm out.

Sat at ORC the ocean was not a pleasant place to be. Maybe I am just overly cautious, but I headed back in before wetting a line. At Chinook Bend on the Slietz there had been a few very nice fish caught, but to Clayman's point, not red hot. Few of us trolled around for a few hours with no luck.

Looking forward the ocean conditions report almost as much and the fishing report. Need to get out on that Coho bite. I also need to get much better at reading the conditions. Sat am did not look as bad as it ended up. At least to me  :)

I didn't fish last Saturday, but I think I remember MSW saying there'd be a 4 ft @ 5 seconds wind swell that day. Combine that with the waves bouncing off the cliffs surrounding Depoe Bay, and it ain't gonna be pleasant. Short-period waves turn that bay into a rodeo ground.

I'll also be joining the tupperware navy for Friday's launch. It's looking like a pretty nice day.

Found out last week with SD2OR that 3' swells at 6 seconds was a bit too much ocean for me. I'll be bringing some no-doze dramamine this time around.
