Sure. Where?

exactly, should be people launching at all the usual locations.

I am planning a 9am launch at Sunset Bay, most likely heading to Simpson Reef to see how the lingcod feel about herring.

Pretty tough to pass that forecast up. Mental health day coming up! Guessing all the usual places will have folk heading out. PC tempting just cuz it would be great to grab a couple of crabs in the process, but always fun to go with a big group. Probably a game-day decision.

Where are people thinking about launching from?

Ahh yes, the forecast dance.

Windfinder is my go to app

Thursday looks better, Friday the wind is supposed to shift to from the south, that's never good.

Saturday is unfishable with 40mph gusts projected.

What to do?

I'll either be doing Depoe or PC, leaning towards PC.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Temping, I have Friday-Tuesday off...I just need to get a babysitter for the kiddo. Is a 2 year old too young to throw on the back of the kayak?

Not happy about how the forecast is changing. With the crazy wind coming on Saturday it wouldn't take much to make it massively unpleasant if it decided to show up a bit early. Looks like the wind is picking up a bit earlier on Friday which would make for a shorter day. MSW, Windy.app, Windfinder all have it picking up late morning/noon.

Fingers crossed

the pacific city forecast looks "volatile".   Don't rule out the effect of the secondary and tertiary swells.  Could be some surprises with swell direction out of the west.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

. . .  and the wind looks to be going in the wrong direction up north (PC) with Friday noon looking pretty sketchy and getting worse quickly. If this keeps up, I may be saving a vacation day for a more solid forecast or Depot/Fogarty still looks like an option.

Time to fill the truck!! Gas may be $6/gal by Friday. Gotta get my order in for the F150 Lightening
