After chatting with Bsteves about his smaller Wheelez, I'm considering ordering the big'uns (11.8"x7")  :o  for my yak cart I am designing. I want to be able to piggy back two yaks at time.  The only thing holding me back is where the heck to put them while on the water.

I was thinking I could let the air out of them to make them take up less space.

Then air back up with one of those compact bicycle Co2 cartridge pumps.   Whatcha think?

you don't need a co2 cartridge unless u just want one...be careful the stems are recessed on these wheels so unless you have the right pump they won't be able to get on the stem...i have the smaller wheelez cart but i use this pump to pump the wheels when i need to (they don't need much pressure so it works well)

works well for me...doesn't take much pumping to get it to ideal...plus with the hose would make it really easy to let air out...the wheels only take 3-4 pounds or something like that (i forget the exact number)

Do the wheeleez deflate down to a noticably smaller foot print for storage inside the hull?

on my ghetto cart, I have spray painted it kinda camo with a few beach colors.
I just tuck it behind a rock or log or in the brush near the launch/landing site.

I do the same as boxofrain.  If the truck is nearby I walk it back, if not I walk it up the beach and using a cheap bike cable and a lock attach it to a drift wood stump or small beach pine.

I don't have any wheelez's but I paddle an inflatable double. The CO2 would be nice, but there are a gajillion small, light, hand pumps that would work almost as quickly (< 1 min.) and are HECK of less expensive. (<$10)

Whichever pump you get, just be careful not to over inflate those big low pressure Wheeleez tires. I think they only take 2.5 lbs of pressure. 3 to 4 lbs would be max.  Wheeleez sells a "low pressure" pressure gage. I don't have one, I just "guestimate" ...I can make deep dents in my 7"X11.8" tires quite easily with finger pressure, but they don't look too low when loaded up with my U-12 and gear...maybe 75 lbs total.
I've only used my Wheeleez kayak cart once, but it is money.

I have the smaller Wheeleez cart like Brian and love it.  I haven't needed to take it over any really torn up terrain yet but for crossing the beach or hauling to a ramp, I don't have any complaints.  And, being able to store it in my yak while fishing is a big plus, expecially when there's a possiblity that the wind or current won't let you get back to your put in.

I found mine at one "*mart" or the other. That pic came from http://www.qualityinflatables.com/airpumps.html  , but they are pretty ubiquitous in the inflatable pool toy sections of most sporting goods stores (or where ever you buy your "other" inflatables) ::)

Did you end up getting any wheelez? Large size? Did you get them to fit anywheres?

Nope on the wheelez.  I ended up building my own cart from scratch.  I may later look into a set of wheelez anyways to add to my cart.
