Was a beautiful overcast day, got on the water about 8:30.
Consistent bites all day, fish all seemed to be at 30'.
Would have had a limit in no time, if the little spastic fish would stay on the hook!
Got my 10th koke (first kokanee limit ever), about 3pm, I think.
They were all 10-12.5".
Not a single trout or baby nook on my line, which was quite a nice surprise.
Camped the night, had planned on fishing today too, but the rain had moved in.
Was a great day with good company, only a handful of boats out there.
If anyone wants kokanee, they should go to Detroit this week!

A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Thanks for the report!   Last year in mid April, I found most of the Kokanee at 50 feet - usually I’ve found them in the top 20 -25 feet that time in the spring, though the low water level last year may have something to do with that?   I’ll be up there trying my luck in about 3 weeks - gotta let them grow a bit bigger. 😀

Real nice day on the water. The midnight rainstorm was also quite the experience in a tent.

Would do again--next time with a different rod/reel combo!
