Anyone fishing on Friday? I’d like to give it a go but haven’t read much if any section doing better than others, I typically like to go sellwood/willamette park

Sellwood seems to be fishing pretty good. I’ve only fished it once this year and went 1/1 but have heard and seen reports of plenty of fish being taken there this year. Definitely much better than last year.

Turbidity is looking better and water temp is coming up.
I've been nursing a bad case of tennis elbow but think, after 4+ months with it, I think I'm finally going to try my luck. Not available Friday so was planning on going Saturday and/or Sunday mornings.

Yesterday's update: No lower Columbia closures anytime soon other than Monday May 23 only to make place for commercial fleet for one day....The river will be open for more than a month (through June 22).

See https://myodfw.com/recreation-report/fishing-report/columbia-zone for details

I will also put my weekend efforts on the Columbia...This may change for Sunday if I get skunked on Saturday and see some great reports from the folks hitting the Willamette:-)

Shin- pretty sure I saw you but we didn’t cross paths.

8am-1pm out of Sellwood. Really expected today to be productive but it was very slow. Only saw 1 very small jack netted, another jack being bled and heard of one at first light above the bridge for about 20+ boats. 0/0 for this guy. Marked a few fish by the island but just couldn’t get them to go. Water is still high, lots of debris- keep your head on a swivel, 52.5 degrees and about 2ft of visibility.

Was really hoping to get into some fish today after all the high water. Now I’m on the sidelines for the next week and a half. Good luck to the weekend crowd. I’m sure OC will be a bloodbath.

We’re you in the blue old town launching from the end of road/ramp under the bridge?

Yes sir, ‘twas me. I tried the bridge once then went down to the flats and island. Slow everywhere. I did get good reports from the harbor and apparently there was a decent bite at the HOC too. Sellwood area was just dead for whatever reason.

Willow Bar
I have not launched from there. Is it basically the other side of the river from Austin Pt?
