Today felt like it was the warmest day we've had in months. It didn't even freeze, over night! 8)

So I escaped my office in the dungeon and hit the river with a couple of flyrods. Found a receptive little buck in the second hole, that I exercised and released. The summer runs have a little color by this time of the year. ;)

Yeah, being 5-10 minutes from the river is darn handy.

On the other hand, it's been so cold the last three months, it hasn't done me any good.

Wow, that is a beauty! It would be cool to see the fly you were using too, but, ummm, it isn't clearly shown in any of the photos...  ::)

Fairly typical spotting.

Ummm, the fly was engulfed pretty well. Here's what it looks like- size 8? In this case I was swinging it with a wet-tip, but I also run it under an indicator.

Pisco Sicko, I used to hunt up on Thompsen ridge years ago and would drive by Patterson lake on my way up. How is the fishing in Patterson? Worth a stop?

Patterson was planted with warmwater fish by the "bucket brigades" in the last 10 years, or so. Doesn't necessarily have the biggest trout, but decent size, and definitely has the most variety, which makes it one of the most interesting lakes in the Valley, for me. Had some lmb in the beginning, but now perch, smb, sometimes crappie and, supposedly, walleye. (One 'eye was caught by the state warmwater management team a couple of years ago,) It's open year round and about 15 minutes from my place, so it's handy.

Here's a recent icefishing report- http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,2250.0.html
