Was slow on the Willamette for everyone today. Only heard of 3 fish caught, tho a number were jumping. The two other guys I was with and myself, tried trolling deeper water for a while with zero action, then started casting spinners at the Tualatin mouth. I ended up getting two bright jacks, and lost one adult. One of my buddies lost a jack and an adult, the other didn't get any action. So, I felt fairly lucky considering. The fish are definitely there though.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

I checked it out on Saturday and it was good to get back on the water. Had one hit and that was it. Trolling with a small 360 and pink brad's mini in pink. I did see the folks tossing spinners at the mouth. It was mentioned that  the best bites were at sunrise and dusk. It was a good day to go out and pull up the vegetation from the bottom of the  Willamette.  I will be back.

That's surprising. I thought the rain would make it lights out on Saturday.

Has anyone tossed spinners from the dock toward shore? A lot of fish cruise right through there between the dock and the weed line.

I did a bit with my buddy and no hits for us. One jack follower but otherwise nothing.

Quick after work trip worked out this afternoon. Heard it had been pretty slow all day. I hit the water at 4p and was home by 6:30. Two passes was all it took. Might have to give it a go tomorrow!

Great job on the troll. I spent Friday afternoon and evening out there. I started with trolling and then switched to casting spinners towards sundown.

I did not see any fish caught trolling. I hooked 2 salmon, both casting, and lost both. I saw a few caught from people casting.

I'm hoping to go out tomorrow. I really appreciate the reports and even explanation of what you're using - not that it's helping me haha  ;D (I don't have a very good track record trolling for salmon.)

Saw a few NWKA OGs out on the water Friday - good to see you!

I am hoping to get on the water in West Linn by around 3 tomorrow (Wed) and give it a go. I always have casting gear so if the trolling doesn't pan out, I will give throwing a spinner for a bit before getting out. Definitely will continue with the same setup. Also, a bit tempted to hit Austin one last time cuz a PB buddy went 6-10 Sunday. Looking at the good weather this weekend, I might give Austin Pt/Lewid R one last shot or if the wind forecast calms down hit Drano. Good late season action this year.

You've certainly got it dialed in Bob. I trolled spinners and a threw a wiggle wart for 2-3 hours yesterday, not a bump. Around 10 boats with no action. One boat lost 1 and netted 1 in the shallows upriver of the launch.

I was thinking of hitting AP one last time tomorrow afternoon. Soft tides with an afternoon tide change should make kayaking reasonable as long as the wind  isn’t bad. I gather it’s a coho show now with chinook being more scarce

AP Conditions do look very attractive, but the 8 minute drive will win out today. Hope you make me regret not driving the extra 45 minutes. Looking forward to the report.

Today was a first. Landed my first double after about an hour of trolling. Count over the dam is dropping so will try to get out as much as I can in the next few days.
