anyone else considering Depoe/Fogarty/PC tomorrow?

Surfline: primary 2ft @ 9s; secondary 1.3ft @ 7s; wind 2-9 kt
NOAA: 2ft @ 4s & 3ft @ 10s; wind S-SE 5-10 kt
Windy: wind 7-11 mph

could be a little choppy but doable?

Surf-forecast shows it considerably nicer, hoping it's accurate. A few guys planning on Fogarty, might divert to Depoe if not.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

NOAA has Sunset Bay at 2' on 9s at sunrise, going to 3' on 10s at 11am and 7mph wind from the SW through early afternoon.
Surfline has a 1.7' primary and 1.3' secondary at 9am.

a few of us launching there about 8:30am and heading for Simpson Reef.

Was a beautiful morning. Clayman got his usual pair of 40" lings. I lost a big one, kept a 27", and released one same size. 10 blues, 8 blacks and a China, lots of missed bites. Could have been better, but certainly wasn't bad, I have fresh taco fixings, and was just great to be on the salt on such a beautiful day.

Felt great to get out there after a long winter! Good to see ya today Cameron, thanks for the jump. They were only 39 inchers  ;D.

Released several other lings, bunch of blacks and deacons. The usual assortment. Uber flat for most of the morning, til that south wind kicked up.

Sunset Bay area was beautiful heading out at 8am, I stuck to the NW reefs, fish were all over bait (squid or herring) and I had one of those bad luck days- ended up C&Ring 9 small lings but the 3 times I got a bigger fish in, I didn't land it.  As the wind came up about 11am, I kept a pathetic 23" ling and also took home a pair of 18" rockfish, ran out of bait at noon and they just were not hitting my jigs, so not the freezer filling day I was looking for.

Great conditions in Pacific City as well, with lots of hungry lings and rock fish. Awesome day to be on the water and quite a few kayakers were there.

When i was packing up (around 11.45 am I guess) two ladies stopped by asking if i had lost a rod. I hadn't. They had found one (not sure if on the beach or on the surf) and they had brought it to the folks at the gate. So if you are missing a rod after fishing PC today you can probably retrieve it somehow through the dory fishermen group.
