Beautiful weather out there today, and a lot of us out on the water. My buddy Daniel started things off by landing a solid hatchery nook, before we even got out of the channel.

I got a beast of a wild coho a bit later, and another smaller one minutes after. Daniel got a nice hatchery coho not long after that.

Salmon were in 80-100 FOW, and we were only setting back 15-30'.

I ended up taking home a 29 and a 30" ling. Released 5 blacks, 5 greenling, a cab, and a blue.

I know Clayman got a limit of coho, and a pair of lings in the 30"s.

Fish checker said at least 80 hatchery coho had come to dock by about 2:30.

Hoping for more nice ocean days soon, so I can get a keeper salmon or two myself.

Great fishing with y'all today!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Beautiful day out there yesterday. Three of us were on the coho hunt by 0600, and quickly got onto some fish just outside the bay in 70-100 ft. Best bite was high up in the water column, 10-20 ft on the line counter. I released a mis-clipped coho and landed two hatchery coho, and was done with salmon by 0700. James and Matt each bagged a hatchery coho and released some wilds. Coho were feeding on small 3" herring.

We hit the Government Point reef later in the morning for bottomfish. Did pretty well drifting herring in the 60-100 ft depths. I bagged 35" and 32" lings, released a bunch of other lings in the 28-30" range. Rockfish were grabby: lots of blacks and deacons, along with a China, a quillback, and a 8-9 lb yelloweye.

Looks like a beautiful morning out there today, hope some guys score on coho before the wind picks up!

We were all using 10 oz, either on a slider or inline weight.

Looking at going saturday with my tandem island.  1) swelll looks favorable but wind seems kinda iffy. Am I reading the forecast right?  2) how much of a mess is the depoe ramp going to be on a saturday holiday weekend....terrible right?

I really want to go tomorrow too, but the wind looks too iffy for me to make the drive.

Saturday looks better, plan to be super early to beat as much holiday weekend crazy as possible

I got to the ramp at Depoe at 3:45 last Friday.
There was one other rig.
Within 10 minutes there were 5 more.
If I end up a Depoe on Friday, I'll be arriving the same time.
Parking lot will be full by 6:00

48 degree water 10 miles offshore this morning. It'll have to warm up significantly and quickly to tempt me to fish this week. It's possible to catch salmon in that cold stuff, but it's usually pretty difficult.

I found a new, to me, webcam for Depoe at the Horn Pub.
Great view to the NW.
Absolutely zero boats all the way to the horizon
